Severe storms cause power outages in Lauderdale County

More than 1,000 customers were without power Monday morning after a round of severe storms moved through the area Sunday night.

Crews with Florence Utilities are continuing work on restoring power. Officials say there are a number of low hanging wires throughout Lauderdale County. Drivers are asked to use caution on the roadways.

The Florence Lauderdale County EMA also says they will be assisting the National Weather Service with storm surveys in the Lexington Area.
